    BlueEcho

Graphic Design | Exhbition Design | Web Design | 3D Motion

I assisted with exhibition design, co-creating the visual identity and website, and managing artist projects and event activities for an exhibition in collaboration with CalArts, the World Resources Institute, and the California Seaweed Festival. I stepped into a leadership role executing a postcard activity in France, aiding in the installation and deinstallation of the show. I was also able to successfully guide a group of artists through multiple opportunities to share their work, using design as a container that held all creative worlds together.

I also had the opportunity to create two video pieces, one which I created 3D motion graphics for. The other I collaborated with a musician that was a part of BlueEcho.

We showed in Nice, France and Los Angeles, California.

    Note:
    1. Poster, exhbition design and website was in collaboration with Adriana Ridings
    2. Music for a Imagining a  Seaweed Future was done by Ravi Deo

    Design Beyond Calm

Publication Design | Motion Graphics | MFA Thesis

Design Beyond Calm explores how lessons learned from meditation can be metaphorically applied to the graphic design process and pedagogy. The thesis contains four projects, each with its own intention, that seek to explore the role of graphic design as a more contemplative, insightful practice.

    1. Don’t Blink is the final film created as a culmination of my other motion projects. It aims to use the four elements as described in Ayurveda yoga as metaphors for different aspects of the design process. Earth as context and presence, air as concept, fire, and water as the contrasting focuses of iteration and refinement. Through this framework, I was able to create meditative pieces that spoke to graphic design as an insightful practice beyond calm.

    2. Graphic design as Contemplative Art is a motion piece based on an interview with David Grey that explores his idea of the same name.

    3. Meditating on a Capital A worked towards exploring the design process and its connections to introspection (looking inwards) and extrospection (observing and understanding the outside world) through a generative exercise with a capital A.

    4. Just Breathe is intended to create visual calm. The aim was to push graphics towards something that contrasts the typical simplistic designs for meditations.

    Still, they change

    Solo Exhibition

In this collection of work, I aim to hold still what inevitably shifts. I am fascinated by how memory morphs over time and how that reshapes my understanding of self.

    At What Cost

    Sculpture | Group Exhibition

A sculpture about a film that has yet to be written. A body horror that explores the lengths and sacrifices artists will take to express what they desire. This piece was created for the group exhibition Self Group.
