LA MUDA

Solo Exhibition

First Gallery
Opening Reception: August 29, 2026 | 5-8pm

La Muda occupies four spaces.

On one: a figure emerges from mesh, a foundation or grid. Glue is used as a layering tool that holds symbolic impossibilities. Not really a body that’s not really about the body.

On the other space: molds are painted using dried clay and wood paint. Baby heads are displayed, made of pressed paper. They resemble devotional objects, maybe ex votos. But devoted to what?

On the third space: a ceramic baby head freed from its molds, but balanced precariously on makeshift candlestick.

On the last space: a doubled face by itself. This piece of glue is situated away from a container or foundation.

La Muda: skin shedding.

“Im not after any sort of identity really. You know things like identity just sort of bore me really. The only thing is you have to have some sort of identity to sell records unfortunately. And I would like to sell some records so I can earn a living and don't have to work at McDonalds”

- Richard David James
